Dena Register, PhD, MT-BC, is a music therapy professor and consultant with extensive experience in program development and music therapy services with young children. Dr. Register was awarded a CIES Fulbright Scholar grant to teach and conduct research at Mahidol University, Thailand. After establishing clinical partnerships and training opportunities across Bangkok and throughout Thailand, she helped developed and launch the first music therapy Masters degree program in Southeast Asia at Mahidol University College of Music in 2013. She continues her work there as a consultant and researcher with Siriraj Hospital.

Dena serves as a Regulatory Affairs Advisor for the Certification Board for Music Therapists.  As such, her consulting work in the US focuses on the professional recognition of music therapy by state governments and on promoting the MT-BC credential as the required credential for all practicing professionals. Dr. Register works with 47 state task forces as well as countless music therapists across the country on obtaining this professional recognition. She delivers training to students and professionals alike on the importance of advocacy for the profession.
